Bonga Nkqintiza to compete in the prestigious championship while raising funds for charity

Mossel Bay news - Acclaimed local triathlete Bonga Nkqintiza is set to take on the Isuzu Ironman South Africa African Championship in Gqeberha on 30 March.
Nkqintiza will be racing alongside his coach, former professional triathlete and multiple Ironman champion Matt Trautman, as well as Paul Ingpen, Triathlon magazine editor and Cape Tri Series founder. The trio will compete under the Ironman4theKids celebrity teams banner, raising funds for various charities across South Africa.
The grueling triathlon event will challenge athletes with a 3.9km swim, a 180.2km cycle, and a 42.2km run.
A rising star in the Ironman circuit
Nkqintiza has steadily climbed the Ironman ranks. In 2023, he became the first Mossel Bay resident to cross the Ironman 70.3 triathlon finish line, placing 46th overall with a time of 4:50:48.
By November 2024, during the third edition of Ironman 70.3 Mossel Bay, he finished 23rd overall in 4:41:47, showing significant improvement.
This year, Nkqintiza has an ambitious schedule ahead, with around 10 national and international challenges lined up.
